- Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Chengdu
Upon arrival in Chengdu, your private guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area and transfer you to your hotel in a comfortable private van. The rest of the day is at your leisure—relax and recharge to prepare for your Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou – Huanglong adventure.
Day 2 – Chengdu
Start your day with a special encounter with adorable giant pandas at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. With your guide’s help, observe and learn about the daily life and habits of these world-famous treasures of China.
Next, take a leisurely stroll along the historic Wide and Narrow Alleys, lined with charming Chinese-style buildings housing local snack vendors, craft shops, and restaurants—perfect for soaking up the authentic Chengdu atmosphere.
In the afternoon, visit the Jinsha Site Museum to explore relics from a Sichuan-based ancient kingdom dating back over 3,000 years. Afterwards, head to People’s Park (Renmin Park) to experience Chengdu’s famous slow-paced lifestyle. Watch locals playing Mahjong, practicing Tai Chi, dancing, singing, or writing calligraphy on the ground with giant brushes. Friendly locals often welcome visitors to join in.
Don’t miss the matchmaking corner, where parents display profiles in search of potential spouses for their children—a fascinating glimpse into China’s unique marriage culture. Finish the afternoon by relaxing in a lakeside teahouse, sipping tea like a local and enjoying the serene park surroundings.
Day 3 – Chengdu to Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou
In the morning, take a high-speed train from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. Upon arrival at Jiuzhaigou Railway Station, your local guide will meet you and transfer you to Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, a must-visit for nature lovers.
Located in northwest Sichuan, Huanglong is renowned for its colorful lakes, snow-capped peaks, glaciers, waterfalls, forests, and hot springs. At the highest point lies the iconic Multi-Colored Ponds, a series of terraced ivory travertine pools in dreamlike shades of yellow, blue, green, and brown. Nearby stands Huanglong Monastery, likely built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), where you can take a short rest.
After exploring Huanglong, continue to Jiuzhaigou, where you will stay for two nights.
Day 4 – Jiuzhaigou
Spend a full day exploring Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, the highlight of this tour. The valley stretches 35 kilometers (22 miles) and sits at an elevation of 2,500 meters (8,200 feet), covering a total of 60,000 hectares of pristine forests, over a hundred crystal-clear lakes, verdant mountains, and stunning waterfalls.
Key highlights include:
Five-Color Pond: Small but enchanting, its transparent waters shimmer in shades of azure, light green, and orange.
Nuorilang Falls: One of Jiuzhaigou’s most majestic waterfalls, cascading through dense forest. On cool mornings, you may see rainbows forming above the falls, adding to the magical scenery.
Long Lake: A winding S-shaped lake reflecting snow-capped peaks, lush forests, blue skies, and white clouds, offering picture-perfect views.
Pearl Shoal: A wide, cascading waterfall where sparkling water droplets resemble pearls in the sunlight, creating an unforgettable spectacle.
This day is a photographer’s paradise and a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in one of China’s most beautiful natural landscapes.
Day 5 – Departure from Jiuzhaigou
Your 5-day Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou tour concludes today. After breakfast, enjoy a private transfer from your hotel to Jiuzhaigou Airport or Railway Station for your onward flight or train.
